See MoreMatt Roberts is a native of Howell County, where he currently resides. He commenced his law enforcement career as a jailer with the Howell County Sheriff’s Office. Upon graduating from the Missouri Sheriff’s Association Training Academy, Matt assumed the role of a Reserve Officer with The West Plains Police Department. His grandfather, Dale Roberts, served as an Officer with The West Plains Police Department during the 1980s and early 1990s until his passing. I will work diligently to provide effective and affordable solutions for the employee retention, fiscal responsibility, and jail security issues.
Since 2021, it's a state requirement to assess the mental health of our law-enforcement officers and get them any help they may need. In any organization, humans are our greatest resource. When I'm your new Howell County sheriff, this will become a priority from day one.
